With the participation of Erdogan…the American Islamic Society conference under the slogan “Rise Now”

The annual conference of the American Islamic Society (MAS) for 2020 was launched on Thursday, November 26, with the participation of high-ranking figures, most notably Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The activities of the virtual conference continued for 4 days, ending on the 29th of last November, under the slogan “Rise Now,” and included events and activities in several fields, in addition to speeches by some prominent figures from American Muslims. In addition to the Turkish President, former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and Kuwaiti Islamic thinker Tariq Al-Suwaidan also participated in the virtual event. President Erdogan delivered a speech at the opening session, followed by a speech by Mahathir Mohamad, in which they stressed the need to “address some of the most important issues that Muslims, Americans and members of the human race are facing today.” The participation of both Erdogan and Mahathir indicates the changes taking place in the global advocacy arena, as Türkiye and Malaysia have regained their presence in the advocacy field in exchange for the failure of other entities that have controlled the advocacy work for years.
