These terms govern use of Awareness and purchases of digital books and courses when offered for sale. Read the product description and linked policies before ordering.
1. Operator and contact
Awareness for Research and Development is operated by THE AWARENESS FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LTD, a private company limited by guarantee without share capital, registered in England and Wales under company number 11350827. Registered office and postal correspondence address: 92 Goetre Fawr, Radyr, Cardiff, Wales, CF15 8EU.
For customer support, cancellations and privacy requests: [email protected], or our contact form. Companies House record.
2. Scope
Our website includes research, publications, an encyclopaedia, articles, reader accounts, a writer portal and a newsletter. Purchase terms apply to products and services actually offered for sale. A free publication does not mean that a paid edition or course is available. Voluntary donations are separate from purchases; contact us about mistaken or unauthorised donations.
3. Orders, prices and payment
The offer describes the product, language, format, technical requirements, access period and course dates where applicable. The total price, currency, applicable taxes and charges are disclosed before payment. No paid extras are added without express consent. The store currency is currently GBP unless the offer states otherwise. You can correct order details before submitting.
A purchase contract is formed when we email our acceptance. An acknowledgement of receipt alone is not acceptance unless expressly stated. If supply is unavailable or there is an obvious pricing error, we contact you before fulfilment and offer correction with your agreement or cancellation and repayment. Recurring payments or subscriptions require clearly disclosed terms and your express agreement before ordering.
4. Delivery and cancellation
Our Delivery Policy and Refund and Cancellation Policy form part of the purchase terms. Consumers have a 14-day cancellation right as explained there. Early digital supply requires express consent, acknowledgement that the change-of-mind cancellation right ends when supply begins, and confirmation on a durable medium. General acceptance of these terms is insufficient.
Live training is a service: starting a session does not by itself remove the entire cancellation right. Offers combining recorded content with live services identify their components, with cancellation rights applied according to each component’s nature.
5. Content licence and intellectual property
Text, images, recordings and trade marks belong to their respective rights holders. A purchase grants a personal, non-exclusive licence as described in the offer, rather than ownership of intellectual property. Do not resell, redistribute or publish files or share account credentials without permission, subject to applicable statutory exceptions and lawful quotation with attribution. Technical restrictions or download limits must be disclosed before purchase.
6. Accounts and contributions
Some services require an account. Provide accurate details, protect your password and report unauthorised access. You must have legal capacity to enter a purchase contract. Writer submissions are reviewed under our Editorial Policy. Do not infringe others’ rights, submit private information without a lawful basis, abuse users or attack the website. Clear breaches may lead to proportionate account restrictions, with reasons and a route to challenge where lawful. Restrictions do not extinguish paid contractual rights or refunds due.
7. Quality and liability
Consumers retain their rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including digital content being as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for a purpose made known to us, and services being performed with reasonable care and skill. Faults and failure to supply are addressed under the law. There is no blanket exclusion of refunds for digital products. Research and educational material does not guarantee a particular academic or professional outcome.
Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or mandatory consumer rights. Liability for foreseeable loss caused by our breach remains subject to applicable law.
8. Data, complaints and changes
Our Privacy Policy explains data use and your rights. Send complaints to the address above with an order reference if available; paid support and full card details are not required. The terms accepted when ordering apply to that order. We do not retrospectively reduce existing contractual rights and will clearly communicate material changes.
9. Law and jurisdiction
English and Welsh law governs these terms without removing mandatory protections in a consumer’s country of residence or access to courts available under applicable law, including courts in Scotland or Northern Ireland for residents there. Arabic and English versions are available; differences must not be interpreted to reduce statutory consumer rights.
