“Egypt’s revolution between two paths”… A comparative study between the revolutionary and counter-revolutionary paths

The “Waa” Foundation for Research and Development launched its new publication entitled (Egypt’s Revolution between Two Tracks… The Revolutionary Track and the Counter-Track: Comparative Models from the Morsi and Sisi Reigns during the Period from 2012-2016), and it deals with a follow-up comparison of the two tracks: the revolutionary track and the counter-track through models from the Morsi and Sisi eras that represent practical aspects of the outcomes of each track. The publication was presented by the Director General of the Foundation, Professor Muhammad Farid Al-Shayal, a professor of Islamic history at British universities, who confirmed that this study was completed while the Awareness Foundation was still under establishment, considering it “a study of high importance in enlightening the Arab reader about the creation of the event, and it is integrated with other efforts that represent continuous episodes of awareness and enlightenment.”

Version information

The study monitored the two paths that have attracted the revolution since its inception: the revolutionary path, which includes the partners and supporters of the Egyptian revolution, and the counter-path, which includes forces hostile to it internally and externally, represented by the so-called “deep state” and its manifestations floating on the surface of political, social, and economic life, such as the military council, the repressive state apparatuses, the Mubarak regime, and corruption networks supported by the money of reactionary regional powers. The study was built methodologically, starting with an introduction explaining the dimensions of the comparative study, its sources and standard controls in a comparison between the two paths and the outcome of each path, then a comparative presentation of the two paths through some issues, events and positions, then the outcomes of the two paths from an objective standpoint. According to those conducting the study, it aims to raise awareness of the facts of the conflict between the paths of revolution and coup in a language based on numbers and statistics related to the Egyptian situation carried out by specialists in scientific centers, field studies, and conclusions of recognized international organizations in economics, politics, human rights, and others.
